What It Is
Broadening our offerings of evidence-based approaches and excellent, researched and proven strategies for effectively treating depression, anxiety, self-harm and trauma-related disorders – THIRA offers residential treatment for individuals ages 13 and up at our Bellevue facility
THIRA’s DBT residential program provides 24 hour comprehensive support and guidance to facilitate rapid onboarding of DBT skills – helping participants cope with distress while building skills to make needed change and prepare to successfully return to home and personal goals for life.
In our supportive environment, with expert trained and supervised practitioners, the individualized treatment focuses on curated and comprehensive goals and the creative and innovative ways to navigate treatment.
Additional and Specific Supports Include
- Individualized family engagement sessions twice a week.
- Families are offered multi-family, weekly, skills training reviews.
- Individual therapy sessions with DBT – trained therapist weekly.
- Comprehensive nutrition program - overseen by Registered Dieticians.
- Registered nurses and certified nursing assistants support daily emotional and physical health needs.
- Psychiatric medication team of psychiatrists and expert nurse prescribers.
- Expressive Arts with registered Art therapists.
- Academics with a certified teacher.
- Mindfulness groups (including mindful movement, yoga, qigong) supplement the group activities.
- Participants foster their sense of connection and belongingness through therapeutic outings, equine-assisted learning, and volunteering.
