Our staff spotlight this month features THIRA’s very first therapist on staff Elisabeth Rehn. She is a light in every room that she walks into and her fun and outgoing personality is part of the glue that keeps THIRA together.
How long have you been at THIRA Health?
I have been at THIRA since 11/2015. I worked in a small suite on the 2nd floor with Dr. Moore and three administrative staff members. I saw individual clients and organized DBT curriculum and began running the first IOP groups.
Tell us about what you do at THIRA Health.
I am a Primary Therapist. I mostly facilitate DBT skills groups in IOP morning and evening programs. I also support PHP staff by providing skills coaching for PHP patients.
Why did you first decide to become a therapist/what inspired your path?
I have worked in a variety of fields in my 20’s from handmade jewelry to financial institutions and felt unfulfilled. Going back to school and becoming a therapist has given my life meaning that it had been lacking. I enjoy helping others and being part of a team.
What do you like to do for fun?
Karaoke! Board games with friends. Brunch. Reading and cuddling with my kitty, Luanne.
What is your favorite thing about THIRA Health?
Witnessing the strength and resiliency of the patients coming through this program. Also, my coworkers and their dedication to our mission.
