Summer! I love the sun and long daylight hours. I’m also a big fan of any sort of water activity. This summer I’ve been floating the river a lot, hanging out in Chelan on the weekends, and paddleboarding whenever I get the chance.
WHAT LED YOU TO PURSUE A CAREER HELPING OTHERS?
Nurture is my nature. I have just known from a young age that I want to help people and love seeing someone’s day get better from something small I may have done.
WHAT EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERTISE DO YOU BRING TO YOUR ROLE?
I have a B.S in Food Science and Nutrition and have had my own journey with food. Having been a vegetarian my whole life, I have had to be aware of how to plan/prepare meals and snacks that meet my nutritional needs from a fairly young age which was not always easy. Now, combined with my education I feel l have the knowledge and compassion to help others in their food journies for the betterment of their mental and physical health.
WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
My patients. The strength they portray through struggle is awe-inspiring and it is so rewarding to watch those transformations.
WHAT IS ONE SMALL THING PEOPLE CAN DO TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES AND INCREASE THEIR HAPPINESS?
Prioritize your needs over others expectations. Setting boundaries for yourself in all aspects of life is so important.
Also, never be afraid to ask for help, no matter how small or big your struggle is.
