Salmon With Cranberry Sauce

Consuming salmon may help fight inflammation of various conditions such as diabetes and even cancer. Try this recipe out and gain all the nutritious value this dish brings to your holiday table!


  • 6 (5 to 6 ounce) center-cut salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup red currant jelly
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Place salmon on a broiler rack that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons melted butter, salt, and pepper. Brush over salmon and set aside.
  4. In a large saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir until tender, about 6 to 7 minutes.
  5. Add cranberries, brown sugar, granulated sugar, currant jelly, orange juice, and 2 tablespoons lemon juice to the onion mixture in the saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 15 to 20 minutes until cranberries pop and sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  7. Preheat broiler.
  8. Broil salmon 4 to 5 inches from the heat for 8 to 10 minutes, or until fish flakes when a fork is inserted and twisted.
  9. Serve fish with sauce. Enjoy!
